OK, Enough Of That Nonsense

By David Horrigan

Last column I gave out some false data. Sorry. I stated that I could no longer see the futures of two teenagers. This week I discovered that it wasn’t that they no longer had futures but that I could no longer see their futures.

Normally when exploring large supposedly important consciousnesses I use an analogy of skipping a stone across a pond. Every place the stone touches I grasp bits of that consciousness and from that data I’ll cull my predictions.

In my last column I didn’t do a sampling skip, I did a deep dive. As any diver will tell you, the deeper you go the darker it is. And the recovery direction (up) isn’t always obvious.

I documented this phenomena in the Book The Spark In The Sea in the story 2000 Miles Under The Sea. I had to dive deep to rescue an associate and as I kicked like mad toward the surface I noticed my exhaust bubbles blasting horizontally off to my left.

Hmmm. Wrong up.

I changed course and let the bubbles guide me and my associate home to the surface.

When exploring deep consciousness there are no bubbles to follow but in retrospect there are standard access or exit points, however I was really deep. This time my rescue had two unusual saviors, a TV show and a poem. The TV show reminded me who I really was and the poem reminded me where I really was.

The TV show is Ted Lasso. Its an Apple TV+ Production and it illustrates who we all are. It is the most brilliantly written series I have ever seen. And it teaches us how to survive happy and accomplished in our own dreams. Being a writer I usually finish the show breathless and satisfied. Wow! I recognize everyone in it and see them resolve their spiritual dilemmas as elegantly as can be. Its very easy to love everyone while watching that show.

The poem came up on a subscription site (No cost) that automatically sends me a link when anything interesting comes up on the subject. That subject being https://www.facebook.com/groups/artliteraturepoetry .Or Art Literature and Poetry. The Poem that popped up on todays link was “Do not go gentle into that good night” by Dylan Thomas. It goes..

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,

Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And how this poem helped me was that it reminded me I don’t believe that it is reasonable to allow others to succumb to the fading light. I believe that together all is possible. However I do believe, burrowed in the darkness of the deep all is impossible.

No matter. If I recognize the contagion and futility of the dark and recognize that I can bring the light and I will succeed in solving the problems of humanity.

Just as Christ became personally responsible for the sins of all mankind, we too can become responsible for our share mankind’s flaws and foibles.

This is a viewpoint I have recovered that allows me to once again see bits of the future.

And so with that we move on to the commercial aspect of this weeks column. I attempt to solve the current world situations using my (disruptive) inventions. I have inventions that reverse climate change (ship pollution, fire extinguishing, air conditioning energy reduction, methane collection, personal body cooling) and I have inventions that introduce health into a diseased populous (therapeutic antibiotic for airborne disease, agricultural biocide to eliminate fungus from plants). And nutrient-based smart waters that raise IQs and normalize AIC and blood sugar.

I have work for everyone and special business models that facilitate easy regulatory market access. All I need is you and your connections for venture investor money, press and market permeation, and a commitment to not allowing humanity to go gently into that good night.
